Overview: As the Storyteller in Residence at FWD.us, I managed the @IAmAnImmigrant campaign’s social channels, including all content, storytelling and social media analytics.

  • The Goal: Increase reach and followers by creating sharable, social-first content to reach folks online where they already are.

  • The Strategy:

    • Create and implement FB frames, Zoom backgrounds, GIFs, graphics with bold sharable copy, Instagram Reels, Instagram Story polls — all for the campaign’s first time.

    • Integrate TikTok content (UGC and repurposed video) into campaign, turn written narratives into visual content, create weekly toolkits during Immigrant Heritage Month for partners and policy makers.

  • The Results:

    • Increased engagement rate during Immigrant Heritage Month campaign by 155% compared to June 2020.

    • Generated 175k more engagements as compared to June 2020; Created verified Giphy page with 4 million+ views.

    • Immigrant Heritage Month campaign hashtag was used 26k times and generated 4.5 million interactions online, including organic participation from President Biden, AOC, Camila Cabello, 60+ elected officials, and more.

    • Grew Instagram following from 21.8k to 25.2k in six months. Sharable graphics and TikTok rounds ups were shared 100+ times on Instagram stories at once.

    • Created more than 70 sharable, original graphics and optimized for different platforms; increased efficiency by using past creative team experience to create all campaigns assets instead of only going through the in-house creative team.
       

Role: Created Immigrant Heritage Month toolkits with copy and graphics that were sent to more than 60 congressional offices and partners. Result: The most organic participation the Immigrant Heritage Month Campaign has ever had.

Role: Started and verified the account, created GIFs using Procreate, Illustrator and Photoshop. Result: More than 4 million views, driven by our audience sharing GIF stickers on social media.
